Qué es la convocatoria CONVERSACIONES? 

Conversaciones fue una convocatoria de fotografía que tuvo lugar en EMC Magazine hace algunos años, en formato virtual. Tuvo tres ediciones, que pueden encontrar acá. Hoy la traemos de vuelta en un nuevo formato: una edición impresa.

La premisa es la misma que le dio vida: encontrar pares entre las imágenes que recibimos, para que entren en diálogo entre sí y formen una constelación. La temática es libre, el material no necesita ser inédito, y las postulaciones pueden ser analógicas o digitales. Cada participante puede enviar hasta 5 imágenes, de las cuales podemos seleccionar entre 1 y 5. Las imágenes no necesitan pertenecer a la misma serie: cada una debe funcionar de manera independiente. La convocatoria está abierta a participantes de todo el mundo. 

Cómo participar

Enviá de 1 a 5 fotos a conversacionesemc@gmail.com vía WeTransfer, en dos versiones: baja resolución para la selección y alta resolución en formato TIFF (300 dpi, RGB, al tamaño máximo disponible), nombradas como Nombre_Apellido_01. Adjuntá también el comprobante de pago del fee de participación ($5.000 ARS o USD 5).

Condiciones de participación

Al participar, cada persona acepta que las imágenes enviadas podrán ser utilizadas para su publicación, distribución y venta en el marco del número impreso de EMC Magazine en el que participen. En caso de que las fotografías incluyan personas reconocibles, el participante es responsable de contar con el consentimiento correspondiente. EMC Magazine no se hace responsable por el incumplimiento de esta condición.

Selección y resultados

La selección estará a cargo del equipo editorial de EMC Magazine. El pago del fee de participación no garantiza la selección del material. Quienes no sean seleccionados no recibirán aviso individual; los nombres de los seleccionados serán publicados en las redes sociales de EMC Magazine. El fee de participación no es reembolsable bajo ninguna circunstancia.

Ejemplares y distribución

Cada participante seleccionado recibirá un ejemplar del número impreso. La publicación está prevista para julio/agosto de 2026. Quienes residan fuera de Argentina deberán abonar el costo de envío internacional por su cuenta; EMC Magazine les informará el monto antes de proceder al envío.






BASES Y CONDICIONES - CONVOCATORIA ABIERTA CONVERSACIONES EMC MAGAZINE
EDICIÓN IMPRESA Lea atentamente las siguientes bases y condiciones antes de participar.


  • 1. CONVOCATORIA La convocatoria estará abierta desde su publicación hasta el 15 de mayo de 2026. Es abierta a participantes de todo el mundo. La participación implica el conocimiento y aceptación de estas bases. Toda cuestión no prevista será resuelta por el equipo editorial de EMC Magazine.


  • 2. CONDICIONES DE PARTICIPACIÓN Podrán participar fotógrafas y fotógrafos de cualquier nacionalidad y lugar de residencia. Cada participante podrá enviar hasta 5 imágenes. Las imágenes no tienen que pertenecer a una misma serie: cada una debe funcionar de manera autónoma. La temática es libre, el material no necesita ser inédito y el soporte puede ser analógico o digital. Es condición indispensable que las imágenes enviadas sean de autoría propia y no infrinjan derechos de terceros.


  • 3. FEE DE PARTICIPACIÓN Para hacer posible esta edición se solicita un fee de participación que se destina íntegramente a los costos de producción del número impreso: impresión, encuadernación y trabajo de colorista. El monto es de $5.000 pesos argentinos para residentes en Argentina, abonables a través de Mercado Pago (alias: emclibros), y de USD 5 para participantes del exterior, abonables vía PayPal (@emcmagazine). Ambas cuentas a nombre de Eliana Morte. El pago del fee no garantiza la selección del material y no es reembolsable bajo ninguna circunstancia. El comprobante de pago deberá incluirse en el envío del material junto con los archivos.


  • 4. REQUISITOS TÉCNICOS El material deberá enviarse por WeTransfer a conversacionesemc@gmail.com en dos versiones: imágenes en baja resolución para la instancia de selección, e imágenes en alta resolución en archivos TIFF a 300 dpi en RGB al tamaño máximo disponible. Los archivos deben nombrarse como Nombre_Apellido_01.


  • 5. SELECCIÓN Y RESULTADOS La selección estará a cargo del equipo editorial de EMC Magazine. La participación en la presente convocatoria, mediante el envío del material y el pago del arancel, implica únicamente el derecho a ser evaluado conforme a los criterios establecidos en estas Bases y Condiciones, y no garantiza bajo ningún concepto la selección o publicación del mismo. EMC Magazine se reserva el derecho de admitir o rechazar las propuestas recibidas, sin que ello genere derecho a reclamo, indemnización o devolución de importes por parte del participante. Los nombres de los participantes seleccionados serán publicados en las redes sociales de EMC Magazine. Quienes no resulten seleccionados no recibirán aviso individual.


  • 6. PROPIEDAD INTELECTUAL Y CESIÓN DE DERECHOS Los participantes declaran ser autores y titulares de los derechos sobre las obras enviadas, y garantizan que las fotografías son originales y no infringen derechos de terceros. Al participar, otorgan a EMC Magazine una licencia de uso no exclusiva para reproducir, distribuir y comercializar las obras seleccionadas únicamente en el marco de la edición impresa objeto de esta convocatoria y en los canales de promoción vinculados a ella. EMC Magazine se compromete a mencionar el nombre del autor de manera visible junto a su obra en todos los usos. Los participantes conservan la titularidad de sus derechos de propiedad intelectual en los términos de la Ley 11.723.


  • 7. DERECHO A LA IMAGEN En caso de que las fotografías incluyan personas reconocibles, el participante es responsable de contar con el consentimiento correspondiente. EMC Magazine no se hace responsable por el incumplimiento de esta condición. Los participantes asumen plena responsabilidad frente a cualquier reclamo que pudiera surgir por violación del derecho a la imagen. 


  • 8. EJEMPLAR Y DISTRIBUCIÓN Cada participante seleccionado recibirá un ejemplar del número impreso. La publicación está prevista para julio/agosto de 2026. Quienes residan fuera de Argentina deberán abonar el costo de envío internacional por su cuenta; EMC Magazine les informará el monto antes de proceder al envío.


  • 9. PROTECCIÓN DE DATOS PERSONALES Los datos personales recopilados en el marco de esta convocatoria serán utilizados exclusivamente para su gestión, en cumplimiento de la Ley 25.326 de Protección de Datos Personales. No serán cedidos a terceros ni utilizados con fines distintos a los aquí establecidos.


  • 10. ACEPTACIÓN DE BASES La participación en esta convocatoria implica el conocimiento y aceptación total de estas bases y condiciones. EMC Magazine se reserva el derecho de modificarlas por causas de fuerza mayor, sin que ello dé lugar a reclamo alguno.



What is the CONVERSACIONES open call?

Conversaciones was a photography open call that took place at EMC Magazine a few years ago, in a virtual format. It had three editions, which you can find here. Today we bring it back in a new format: a printed edition.

The premise is the same one that gave it life: finding pairs among the images we receive, so that the selected works enter into dialogue with each other and form a constellation. The theme is open, the material does not need to be previously unpublished, and submissions can be analog or digital. Each participant may submit up to 5 images, from which we may select between 1 and 5. The images do not need to belong to the same series: each one must work independently. The open call is open to participants from around the world.

How to apply

Send 1 to 5 images to conversacionesemc@gmail.com via WeTransfer, in two versions: low resolution for the selection process and high resolution in TIFF format (300 dpi, RGB, maximum available size), named as Name_Surname_01. Please also attach proof of payment of the submission fee (ARS 5,000 or USD 5).

Participation Terms

By participating, each person agrees that the submitted images may be used for publication, distribution, and sale as part of the printed issue of EMC Magazine in which they participate. If photographs include recognizable individuals, the participant is responsible for obtaining the corresponding consent. EMC Magazine is not liable for failure to comply with this condition.


Selection and Results

Selection will be carried out by the editorial team of EMC Magazine. Payment of the participation fee does not guarantee selection. Those not selected will not receive individual notification; the names of selected participants will be announced on EMC Magazine's social media. The participation fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Copy and Distribution

Each selected participant will receive a copy of the printed issue. Publication is scheduled for July/August 2026. Participants residing outside Argentina will be responsible for covering international shipping costs; EMC Magazine will inform them of the amount before proceeding with the shipment.

PRINT EDITION Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before participating.


  • 1. OPEN CALL The open call will be open from the date of publication until May 15, 2026. It is open to participants from around the world. Participation implies knowledge and acceptance of these terms. Any matter not covered herein will be resolved by the editorial team of EMC Magazine.


  • 2. PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS Photographers of any nationality and place of residence may participate. Each participant may submit up to 5 images. The images do not need to belong to the same series: each one must work independently. The theme is open, the material does not need to be previously unpublished, and submissions may be analog or digital. It is an essential condition that the submitted images are the participant's own work and do not infringe upon third-party rights.


  • 3. SUBMITION FEE To make this edition possible, a submition fee is required, which goes entirely toward the production costs of the printed issue: printing, binding, and colorist work. The fee is ARS 5,000 for residents in Argentina, payable via Mercado Pago (alias: emclibros), and USD 5 for international participants, payable via PayPal (@emcmagazine). Both accounts are in the name of Eliana Morte. Payment of the fee does not guarantee selection and is non-refundable under any circumstances. Proof of payment must be included with the submitted material along with the files.


  • 4. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Material must be sent via WeTransfer to conversacionesemc@gmail.com in two versions: low-resolution images for the selection stage, and high-resolution images in TIFF format at 300 dpi in RGB at the maximum available size. Files must be named FirstName_LastName_01.


  • 5. SELECTION AND RESULTS Selection will be carried out by the editorial team of EMC Magazine. Participation in this open call, through submission of material and payment of the fee, grants only the right to be evaluated according to the criteria established in these Terms and Conditions, and does not guarantee selection or publication under any circumstances. EMC Magazine reserves the right to accept or reject any submitted proposals without this giving rise to any claim, compensation, or refund on the part of the participant. The names of selected participants will be published on EMC Magazine's social media. Those not selected will not receive individual notification.


  • 6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND RIGHTS TRANSFER Participants declare that they are the authors and rights holders of the submitted works, and warrant that the photographs are original and do not infringe upon third-party rights. By participating, they grant EMC Magazine a non-exclusive license to reproduce, distribute, and commercialize the selected works solely within the framework of the printed edition that is the subject of this open call, and in the promotional channels associated with it. EMC Magazine commits to crediting the author's name visibly alongside their work in all uses. Participants retain ownership of their intellectual property rights in accordance with Law 11.723.


  • 7. RIGHT OF IMAGE If photographs include recognizable individuals, the participant is responsible for obtaining the corresponding consent. EMC Magazine is not liable for failure to comply with this condition. Participants assume full responsibility for any claim that may arise from the violation of a third party's right of image.


  • 8. COPY AND DISTRIBUTION Each selected participant will receive a copy of the printed issue. Publication is scheduled for July/August 2026. Participants residing outside Argentina will be responsible for covering international shipping costs; EMC Magazine will inform them of the amount before proceeding with the shipment.


  • 9. PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION Personal data collected within the framework of this open call will be used exclusively for its management, in compliance with Law 25.326 on Personal Data Protection. It will not be shared with third parties or used for purposes other than those set out herein.


  • 10. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS Participation in this open call implies full knowledge and acceptance of these terms and conditions. EMC Magazine reserves the right to modify them due to circumstances beyond its control, without this giving rise to any claim.
